For rounds 1 and 2 play will be divided between the Geronimo and Cochise courses in only a morning wave. The morning wave on each course will be from holes 1 and 10 between 7:30 am and 9:20 am.  Players starting early from hole 1 on one course will start later from hole 10 on the other course other day, and vice-versa. Players will be provided lunch between 10:45 am and 3 pm. for rounds 1 and 2 and may select to eat prior to or following their rounds. Breakfast will also be available until 11:00 am.

Players must start at the times and in the order arranged by the SWGA Rules Committee. Any player failing to arrive on the tee within five (5) minutes of his starting time will be disqualified.

Tee times for Wednesday and Thursday are on the pairings sheet. For Friday and Saturday play, they should be available on the SWGA website – – or at the Cochise/Geronimo Pro Shop approximately two hours after the conclusion of the round.

For those not qualifying who wish to play on Friday, tee times are available after 10:00 am. Call the courses directly to make your tee time.

The official time is determined by the national Institute of Standards and Technology’s WWVB Radio Signal from the USA Atomic Clock, and is kept at the starting tee(s) or registration area. The official time is the time on the clock at your starting tee.

All players will sign their scorecard, properly attest their fellow-competitor’s scorecard and return each to the scoring officials immediately following play. We require each player to remain in the scoring area until scores are verified for each player. Players failing to perform all duties within the scoring area are subject to disqualification.

There will be real-time scoring. Volunteers will be stationed at every third green to record the last three hole scores for each player.

Players shall present a neat appearance appropriate to the game of golf in both clothing and grooming while on the tournament premises (no cut-offs, t-shirts, workout clothing or denim are allowed at any time). Knee length shorts or slacks are required and golf shirts must have a collar. No metal spikes are allowed. This applies to caddies as well.

Caddies are permitted for the practice round and all rounds of the competition. Neither players nor their caddies may walk on the putting green of any hole between rounds of the tournament. The player is responsible to ensure his caddie complies with all SWGA policies during the tournament. Caddies shall wear smooth tennis or basketball shoes. No golf shoes of any type are permitted, including soft spikes. Caddies may wear shorts and must comply with the same appearance policies as the players.

In this Southwestern Amateur Championship a player MAY obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance measuring device that is designed or has the ability to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play, the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is DISQUALIFICATION, regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used.

Usage of electronic devices that disrupt play is not permitted by players or caddies. All electronic devices must be turned off during the stipulated round. If a player or caddie uses such devices, they will be asked to cease doing so. Failure to comply may result in the player being withdrawn from the event.
